Pro Multis in Hungary!

It is with utmost joy that I am able to report that as of Pentecost Sunday, all Masses said in Hungarian will have the words "for many" used in the Consecration of the wine and not the current and erroneous "for all". This is something that we hope to see soon copied all over the world. We cannot pray for this to come soon enough. DEO GRATIAS!

High Masses

The latest developments have High Masses at St. Agnes resuming not the first Sunday in June, as initially reported, but rather the second Sunday in June with Father Orthel's first High Mass on the External Solemnity of Corpus Christi. There is still plenty of time to secure this date on your friends calendars. Invite everyone!

Wear Black!

I urge all of you to wear black today in protest of the events to take place at Notre Dame today. A simple peaceful gesture like this will go a long way in showing solidarity around the country with others who feel today's events are a tragedy.

Altar Server Practice

With High Masses beginning in the month of June, the servers need to get together a reasonable amount of times between now and then to make sure that everyone is on the same page. Please email me if Saturday will be a problem for you. The time will be announced soon.

MAJOR Liturgical Announcement

Beginning Sunday June 7th, the normative form for the offering of the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite at St. Agnes on Sunday's and Holy Day's (and a few other days here and there!!) will be a "sung" High Mass. Father Orthel's first "sung" High Mass will be Sunday June 14th. It will be followed by a procession with the Blessed Sacrament through the streets of Springfield. Details on the procession are still being worked out. If you have been sitting on the fence about attending the Extraordinary Form, June 14th is the time to make the trip to St. Agnes at 3 PM.

Regarding H1N1 Swine Flu

For those who visit the blog and attend the Ordinary Form of the Roman Rite, it is important to remember that a Bishop or priest might strongly recommend that Holy Communion be received in the hand but cannot forbid the receiving of Holy Communion on the tongue. Jubilee Celebration

I have returned from my trip to the Latin Mass Community in Cherokee Village to this wonderful news waiting for me at the blog, coming to us from Una Voce Philadelphia:

PHILADELPHIA, PA, May, 1, A priest of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, Father Daniel J. Kehoe, age 96, will celebrate his 70th jubilee as a priest for the Archdiocese. After studying at St Charles Seminary, he was ordained by Dennis Cardinal Dougherty on June 3, 1939, and is the only surviving member of his ordination class. Father served as associate pastor, teacher and principal at three archdiocesan high schools, and as Pastor of Holy Spirit Parish in Sharon Hill, PA, where he is now Pastor Emeritus. He is the oldest active priest still in service. On a bi-weekly basis, Fr Kehoe has been offering the Extraordinary Form of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at Our Lady of Consolation Church in Philadelphia, still driving the 20 some miles between the two churches, A most saintly, modest priest, Father shows his evident love for the ancient form by the deep reverence and evident piety of his celebrations and the profound wisdom of his sermons. Father likes to recall that, when he was born St Pius X was the reigning pope, and that his life has spanned nine pontificates.
This is an occasion to rejoice over a vast lifetime of priestly service to God and the Church. Let us pray for Father Kehoe and for all dedicated holy priests. Ad multos annos!
