Epiphany means the Manifestation of God. Jesus Christ is God and Lord of the entire world! The star appears in the East, the water is changed into wine at the wedding feast of Cana, and tomorrow Jesus is Baptized in the Jordan by John..."This is my beloved Son," says the voice from heaven. All these miracles help us to recognize the Child Jesus as our God and King. They help us to adore Him with greater faith!
"We are the people of Your pasture and the sheep of your hand." (Psalm 94). Jesus reveals Himself to the world. We must beg Him to reveal Himself more and more to our own souls!

The Wedding Feast at Cana in Galilee is the second luminous mystery of the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Jesus Christ works His first public miracle because his Mother asks Him to! When we ponder this mystery in the life of Christ we should realize how it pleases God when we approach Him through His Blessed Mother. Mary is the most powerful intercessor of all the saints. In fact, one single sigh to her Son is more powerful than the prayers of all the angels and saints combined! Mary’s prayer is the prayer of a Mother, whereas the prayers of saints and angels are prayers of servants. All that the Mother asks of the Son is granted to her.
Mary has a heart full of love and mercy for poor sinners. She desires to see us happy in this life. We have only to turn to her if we want to be heard. It is true that God loved us so much that He died for us, but in the heart of Our Lord there is also justice for sinners. In the heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary there is nothing but mercy. When Jesus Christ is ready to punish a sinner, Mary intercedes and begs pardon for the sinner and Jesus cannot refuse her anything! The Most Holy Virgin places herself between her Son and us. The greater we sin, the more tenderness and compassion she feels for us.
Let us renew our devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and approach God through her with all our needs.

The self-manifestation at the wedding of Cana is the second luminous mystery in the life of Jesus Christ. Before Jesus changed the water into wine His disciples already believed that Jesus was the Messiah. However, with this first public miracle the disciples began to experience a much deeper faith. At Cana, the Blessed Virgin Mary obtained from her Son the temporal need of providing for the guests at the wedding. This mystery emphasizes the importance of relying on the Blessed Virgin Mary’s prayers for all our own needs.
Mary’s prayers are unparalleled in effectiveness with God because they are the prayers of a Mother, whereas the prayers of the saints are prayers of servants. Since Jesus Christ has an infinite love for His Mother, Mary’s prayers cannot go unanswered. We have an opportunity to grow in our devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary whenever we choose. Let us beg God through her prayers to draw us closer to Christ our Savior.
